I totally agree.

I'm a software developer, I'm already flying in and out some of the keyers through macros. With fully customizable easing, because I'm allergic to linear motion in animations. I'll probably post something for others to use here. It's basically a macro-animation-generator that runs in a webbrowser, entirely clientside (JavaScript). It's too crude to publish now, but when I polish it some more, it might be useful to some.
As a sidenote: I'm generating the entire ATEM configuration, macros, title screens and lower-thirds (PNGs) for our 7 hour shows fully automated (I even grab the show's data, like presentation titles, speaker names for lower-thirds etc. directly from our database). It's basically one click and it downloads a zip file containing the XML and "ATEM Media Pool" folder that can be restored to either a Mini Pro or Mini Extreme. Obviously, this code runs on a (local) server.
I'm pretty happy with the way BMD set this up. Too bad the documentation for all the possible macro-options is lacking/non-existent. Oh, and if there's a way to automate reloading macros in ATEM Software Control, then I'm all ears.
