It might be useful to understand what is saved and how it works in the ATEM. Settings in the Gear or "Settings" menus are generally always saved with the hardware automatically and should not require any manual selection to do so. The non volatile memory is not instant or fast, however, so once a change is made it is a good idea to wait 20-30 seconds before power cycling the hardware. All other ATEM states like crosspoints and pallets may be saved for power up using the File Menu -> Save The Startup State. This process also needs the 20-30 seconds in order to fully write to the non volatile memory. The camera controls are not saved in any non volatile memory. They may, however be saved and recalled to a disk file using the File Menu -> Save As feature. Some ATEMs have the hardware to save media which is also automatic once loaded. Generally that doesn't require any extra time because once you see the image in the media pool, it is available to the switcher. I hope this helps.
