BMD Hyperdeck Studio HD Plus

PostFri May 13, 2022 10:13 am

I'm sure this has been asked before so sorry in advance (searched but can't seem to find any answers)

What SD Cards and USB-C drives are people getting good reliable results with on the Hyperdeck Studio HD Plus

We wont be recording more than 1080p but the recommended list from BMD only seems to cover 2160P and all that are listed are ridiculous price when you start buying 10+ units

Would be good to know who is using what for ProRes files and also H264 files

Thanks in advance

Are you sure affordable should be your priority when purchasing recording media? Reliability should be #1 in my book..

If you'd bought the Pro-variant you could have used regular 2.5" SSDs like the Kingston KC600-series, which are available at 512GB / 1TB-sizes for about $80/pcs. You could try putting these in a USB-C-enclosure, but I'd test it really well before relying on it for production use.
