No Video out after switching Camera to "Program"

PostMon Jun 27, 2022 1:32 pm

Hi, we've got the production studio 4k.

Testing situation: one Camera connected to 4k Studio, set on preview, bars on "program"
Image everything is fine - camera is shown in multiview as "cam2" and "preview", Signal at program-out is color bar (how expected).
Image

After this - switching Camera2 from "preview" to "program":
Camera is shown in multiview as "cam2" and "program" Image but there is no more signal at program-out Image

Is there anybody out there, who's an idea to solve it?

Disable the keyer and give it another shot.

Good Luck

Which Program out are you using? What type of converter?

I would test the output by hooking up an HDMI monitor to the Program out and verifying the camera output is seen there.

intentionally I want to go directly from program-out to 4k-recorder.
For testing I use a 4k hdmi capture box (4kplus DigitNow!)

Capturing directliy from Cam to recorder works fine, same camera directly into capture box into pc - software is OBS.

Camera is Panasonic HC-X2000
HDMI-Out Setting is 3840x2160p

Recording Settings:
Format: mp4
2169-25.00p /420LongGOP 72M
2160 -25.00p HEVC LongGOP 72M

MOV
2160-25.00p HEVC LongGOP 150M...

Signal is shown as Program but no way to get the camera-signal at prog-out...
I've tried so connect the cam directly/hdmi cable to hdmi-in or via blacmagicBidirectional SDI/HDMI 12G Mini Converter with SDI and HDMI cable... no difference.
Tried to put a fury handshake between - no effect...

Fair enough but now input 3 is live which was previously no source.

Good Luck

Sorry, yes, it's right, but i've changed the input to, just to be sure there's no failure at the input. ;)
But thank you for thinking about it - and sorry for my english...

Are you sure you have the computer with OBS connected to the PGM OUT on the ATEM switcher? Or is it connected to an AUX output?

Where is the "No Video" image coming from? Is this generated by your capture device if it has no signal or doesn't support the signal? The ATEM should always have a signal on it's PGM OUT, regardless of what source is selected and it is always the same resolution and framerate (which the switcher is set to).

From the photos above from the OP - if he were using the Aux out which was displaying bars in OBS and then switched the Program Source it should still show the bars as the Aux source wouldn't have changed.

I think he needs to show us what happens when he selects source 2 (as Howard pointed out above) and if that doesn't work he needs to check the outputs as I suggested.

Best,

David

Yes, I've send some more posts with explanations and pictures but ok.
No Connection failure. Balckmagic support gave me the hint to connect prg-out with an hdmi-input to see if the camera is shown in prog-out if it is switched to "program" - and yes it ist.

Now it works - putting one 25m sdi-cable, two 20cm hdmi cables and two sdi/hdmi bidirectional 12g converters in between Camera and Mixer (optional 25m HDMI-Cabel with booster) instead 1m HDMI-Cable - and now Camera-Signal at prog-out is strong enough to be revognized of consumer 4k Recorder (clonerAllianze)...
SDI-Cable with one converter doesn't work..-

Sounds not really logically, but who cares.
Same behaviour was seen as another camera which was connected via 25m SDI was used - so i tried the irrational solution and it was functionally.
