Atem Extreme SDI with BMPCCs over bi-directional converter?

PostSat Feb 04, 2023 10:12 am

How can I use bi-directional SDI (using the appropriate converter) between our BMPCC 4K cameras and an ATEM extreme SDI, to maintain the remote control of the BMPCC in the ATEM software camera control tab?

Do I have to plug 2 SDI channels on the ATEM for each camera therefore losing half of my channels?

You need an output signal from the Atem to go to the cameras, with 4 outputs available on the Extreme SDI, you could just connect them directly, but you can also just use one and feed it through an SDI distribution amp to split the signal.

Thank you, it worked, I just had to set the camera ID in the bi-directional converter

Any idea if I put a Smart Videohub 12x12 in between, if the camera ID remains valid?

Yes. The Smart Videohub is completely transparent for Camera Control and Tally data.
