ATEM Mini; no HDMI output; webcam image flipped

PostSat Mar 14, 2020 6:37 am

I have two problems with my new ATEM Mini: (1) No HDMI output and (2) all input channels are 180 degrees vertically flipped when viewed via the webcam USB-C interface.

(1) I have 3 input sources: Sony A6400, AppleTV, and a Lenovo Laptop. All three sources output HDMI. If I connect them directly to my ASUS monitor, they all display as expected. However, if I connect the three sources to the ATEM Mini and the ATEM Mini HDMI output to the monitor, no signal arrives at the monitor (i.e., the screen is blank.)

(2) Even though the ATEM Mini HDMI output does not seem to work, I can view (and switch among) all three sources if I connect the ATEM Mini via USB to a laptop running a streaming application (here, Facetime, BlueJeans, etc.) However, all three sources appear 180 degrees vertically flipped. (Note that I updated the ATEM Mini software to the latest version 8.1.2.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
Hanno

I have the exact same problem.

HDMI output is fine, USB output is flipped.

Computer is a Mac-Book Pro, still with "old" USB-ports. Is the adapter the issues?

Blackmagic: Any help?

So everyone should know the flipping is being done by the software you are using to stream. This is probably intentional so you can see yourself like in a mirror. You should also know, your viewers do not see this flipped image. Only you. And there are software applications that do not do this like OBS for example. The Web Presenter or ATEM Mini do not have the capability to flip the image.

goran diffner wrote:In my case it is the camera that make the image flipped and yes the viewers can see it. This is with a GH3 and a BMPCC first gen in to the Mini and out through HDMI in to a Intensity Pro capture card so it does it over HDMI too.

Ahhh, you're YT Channel is private, can't see it. Also I'm using a UltraStudio capture card, Facetime doesn't see it as webcam, period :(
