Can someone from BMD confirm this is true? It's listed on the website homepage? Have they shipped to distributors?

Adorama has it listed as available for preorder, so BMD might be in the process of shipping these out.
They will arrive when the get here, and current virus situation will probably cause some delays.

Assuming this is similar to most of the recent Blackmagic new product releases, "Available Now" means that Blackmagic has started manufacturing units and shipping them to distributors. But it usually takes a few weeks before they actually end up in the hands of customers.

For some of the new products that had a lot of demand (like the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K), it took several months after they started shipping before all of the pre-orders were fulfilled, and there were units in stock at distributors (so that you could just buy one and have it in a couple days).

The original ATEM Mini was a bit faster than that, although I think Grant mentioned that there have been some challenges with shipping delays recently, so we will have to see how long things take for the ATEM Mini Pro.

One thing Apple does pretty well is when they make a product announcement it's stocked online and in the stores, ready to go! Hoping BM will do that too someday!

They did start shipping to distributors at the end of November and then units were in customers hands a few weeks after that.

I would guess that more recent product availability issues have been affected by various factory closures in China and elsewhere in the early part of this year. Even if final product assembly is done in facilities that remain open, this kind of thing can lead to electronics component shortages and other supply chain disruptions that make shipping finished products more difficult. If anyone knows of a reseller who is shipping, let us know, please. I got a preorder in to B&H, but they're off for Passover until the 17th (not a criticism, just a note).

No one I know of has Mini Pros in stock, they are all taking orders. My AV BMD dealer has 200 ATEM Mini Pros currently on order, and is taking orders against this initial pre order. I am number 35 in this que, and the dealer thinks they are going to trickle in like the Pocket 4K camera.

I have been back-ordered since I placed my order with a major outlet as soon as it was announced and I was prepared to wait a while, but the reports that others have received their orders (at least in Europe) have gotten my hopes up.

Seeing a lot on youtube unboxing and such. Where do they get them ? Im paid in line at B&H and still no eta. Yet I see a seller on amazon listing them for 800 US, and their best eta is July?

I cant put a URL up for an example because the box literally says no URLs.

Please post this - its been "shadow" dropped since yesterday.

Either the good product is matched by good service (just tell us when or why) or it isn't. I cant wait forever even if I have to pay a competitor for a solution 10X this one. But I like your product and people - so - please follow through on a simple request for info.

Because B&H is 1 of the BIG vendors their Backorder list is enormous.. You are better of with a smaller / local webshop.. Often the list is shorter And the change you get it sooner..

Try the DVE Store in Washington, they preordered 200 units and I do not believe they have taken that many orders yet.

I'm feeling guilty that I already have one in hand. I guess I got on the backlog early enough.

I run AV at a local church. We've been streaming for a few years, but we wanted to up our game during quarantine. This is my first video switcher, so I'm a huge n00b. So far, I'm really impressed at how simple it is to get going. This will replace our epiphan webcaster x2 box, which has been discontinued.

The multiview output is great, the Software Control is pretty easy. I got upstream keying working pretty quickly with Powerpoint for text overlay.

One weird thing I'm having is that there are no link lights on the Ethernet port. It gets an IP address with shorter cables going into a switch, but it failed with a longer cable. I'm hoping it's just a firmware bug and not a hardware problem. But I can't put it into production until I know for sure.

I did notice that my Mini (non-Pro) connects at 10/100, not 1000 to my network switch when using a 20' patch cable. I have since run a new Cat-6 jack, but I did not check the speed. 1000 ports can sometimes be touchy with cat-5 cable. (I know it is not suppose to be, but I have seen it multiple times.)

I just received mine but it did not come with the software sd card as suggested. Where can I download the software needed?

No software card. Just download from Blackmagic support web.

The non-Pro version of the Atem Mini only supports 100 Mbps Ethernet. It does not support Gigabit (1000 Mbps) Ethernet. This is from the specs on the product page --> https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/atemmini/techspecs/W-APS-13

To put that another way, the behavior you are seeing is normal and expected.

If you are using the ATEM Mini Pro, it might be best to run CAT-6 Ethernet cables in those situations as cable lengths can be long.

I ordered the ATEM Mini on April 13, 2020. Then on April 23, I upgraded to ATEM Mini Pro though B&G customer service. They said they were expected to arrive May 1 to their distributors. I'm guessing just another week or two away from arrival on my end.

Can someone who has the Mini Pro confirm that the LEDs light up when they plug in an Ethernet cable? Tech support is telling me that my unit is working even though there are no link or activity lights on the port. Sigh, why is it so difficult to find technically competent tech support?

Hi all... Brand new to the forum and looking forward to learning from, (and hopefully contributing a bit too!), to this community. However, we've had an Mini Pro on order now for 6 weeks and it was announced a bit before that as "available now" so I'm just trying to figure out if it's actually shipping or if it's been halted. I'm not afraid to hear the truth, but regardless of all the variables with Covid-19 (including a pent up demand for a new product that seems to check a lot of boxes for buyers), this is just getting a bit weird as to the lack of information being shared by BM in my opinion. The dealer we ordered from won't disclose how many orders we are behind or how many they have on backorder with BM so I'm just trying to gauge if I should consider cancelling and look at other products. Well, that and we're just eager to give it a spin to be honest, LOL!

All kidding aside, was looking at trying to standardize workflows at 2 locations around BM products, including cameras, as I absolutely love the idea of the "eco-system" approach. However, I'd like to hear opinions as to whether this is a unique time/situation on this particular item or a more systemic problem in general with this line of gear.

I think the ATEM minis are in such demand because of Covid and everyone wants to livestream. I found a mini pro searching around on the internet a couple weeks ago. Same with cameras like bmpcc4k. I just found two more I’m setting up for live-streaming from my recording studio but streaming and video gear is in high demand

The ATEM Mini Pro is shipping, my dealer is getting their second batch in this week, the DVE Store in Washington. I have had mine on order a week after it was released, and it is shipping by Friday.
