Compact Videohub IP Telnet socket timeout

I am using a Vista Systems Spyder to control a Compact Videohub 40x40, and when I query the router from the Spyder, I get a Telnet Socket timed out waiting for response message. The issue I am having that may be related to this is that routing commands from the Spyder over IP are sometimes failing, and I am getting incorrect sources routed to the Spyder as a result. The Spyder and the Videohub live together on the same unmanaged switch.
