Talkback on ATEM Television Studio HD

PostSat Sep 26, 2020 5:12 pm

Hello together,

i own the ATEM Television Studio HD and a Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K.

My problem is that I have no talkback from the mixer to the camera. But on the microphone input I get a signal.

The talkback from the camera to the mixer works.
The control of the camera and Taly works.

Do I have to activate anything else for this to work ?
I can't hear the program sound either.

For your information I made the microphone cable for the mixer myself
PJ 068 -> XLR

Thanks for the help

Hello. It is unclear what you are using for microphone. You should only be using civilian aviation headsets with electret microphones at either end. They would connect to the jacks provided for this at either end. Speaking into the microphone at the switcher end you should see the audio on the meter in the ATEM software. Using any other kind of microphone will likely not work. Stay safe.

Hello,

I use a Sennheiser E845,

It can not be the cable, the signal arrives at the mixer (level under Audi MIC beats out), the quality is great when I listen to it.

The problem is on the camera I hear nothing.
Since I only own a Blackmagic camera, I can't test this with any other.

Re: Talkback on Micro Studio Camera 4K

Hello together

I was able to determine in the last few days with my newly acquired Video Assist 7" 3G that the problem is not with the ATEM console.

The talkback to the camera is sent correctly on channel 15 & 16.

Now I suspect that my Micro Studio Camera 4K is not working properly.
As I understand the manual, you do not have to set anything extra on the camera.

Or?

Thank you and happy christmas to you.

In the Micro Studio Camera menus, there is a Headset gain, Microphone Gain, and Program Mix. Make sure these are up. With the Program Mix up, the camera person should hear program audio mixed with talkback. Make sure this works as well when sending program audio. Note that the Microphone input on the TVS HD, is designed for an Electret condenser microphone and has a bias voltage. This is also an unbalanced input and usually dynamic microphones will not work here. Stay safe.

Hi!

Have a similar problem but have the talkback working but the program audio back to the micro studio won’t work. It works with the ursa I have but not with the micro.

I have a TVDH, it’s broadcast and micro studio 4K

I think I have to give the camera to the service.
I think that falls under the warranty.

Maybe this is a general model problem that there are problems here.
