I have a DeckLink Duo 2 in a Sonnet Express SE IIIe 3 PCIe connected to the new M1 Mac Mini to be used with ProPresenter 7. My understanding is that the Sonnet does work with the M1, but I can't get the Mac Mini to recognize the DeckLink Duo 2. Has anyone had success with this?

the M1 does not support PCIe (also external in a enclosure), or eGPU

Same problem here. The Sonnet is in fact seen by the M1 as a valid TB3 device. It's the DeckLink Duo that is not seen. I was told it was compatible, but in looking closer at the 12.1 release notes that may be for 4K DeckLink models only? Can anyone confirm if those are working OK?

Jumping back in to declare this absolutely does work! Tech Support just walked me through it (fantastic help there by the way...). It's a bit of an extra process where you have to get into Startup Utility Options on the Mac to allow 3rd party developers and then also allow it again upon install of the software in the "Security Preferences" in the OS.
My setup for reference:
MacMini M1
Big Sur OS 11.2.3
DeckLink Duo 2 in a Sonnet Express SE IIIe chassis
Desktop Video Setup v12.0
Everything seems to be recognized and working fine now. Many thanks BMD!

Hi whdigital,
Have you had any issues with the M1 + Decklink Duo + PP7 setup? We've consistently had 2 seconds of lag running PP7 from a 2019 i7 iMac with the Decklink Duo 2. It usually happens after 90 minutes of importing photos, videos, and editing song and message text. It's so bad that we have to restart the machine to run the presentation for the service. Seems like it's fine because the editing is done and the memory is cleared. Just presenting it does fine. 90 minutes of building presentations kills it and makes everything lag. I'm interested to hear what you think of your setup. Are you able to edit for a few hours then run a presentation without lag on the M1? We're running 1 monitor out via USB-C to HDMI, then 4 SDI outs from the decklink. We're on Catalina as well. Thanks, Phil
