ATEM Mini Pro to Amazon (AWS) IVS

I am trying to get the Atem Mini Pro working with Amazon Web Services - IVS?
No matter what I put in my XML file for the ATEM, it will not connect to Amazon.
Did anyone get this working?

Have you tested your config with OBS?

Yes, OBS works no problem, so the server URL and Stream key don't seem to be the problem.
For the XML config, I copy/paste the Facebook streaming settings already in the streaming.xml fiel and adjusted the server. But for some reason, the ATEM won't connect to AWS

Same here.
In the early days of the ATEM Mini Pro it works, but one day it stops working.

My current workaround is to redirect / proxy the rtmp stream with an nginx-rtmp server and ffmpeg (without retranscoding the stream).

Hi guys,

Has anyone managed to stream from Atem Mini Pro to AWS MediaLive?

This works fine from OBS, but will not work from the Atem with a customised streaming.xml file.

I have previously customised streaming.xml to work Atem > Wowza. So I know it should work. But the red ON AIR message just flashes and it will not connect.

I have tried changing the MediaLive input codec to AVC/MPEG2, but no joy. Can anyone please help?

Thank you!

Gavin

Gaah! I have to apologies gents: this was an internal network issue.

My laptop's MAC address was bound to a private IP within my TP-Link router's security settings. But for some reason, the router was assigning the very same IP address to the Atem Mini via DHCP! So the Atem presumably wasn't receiving a handshake from AWS.

Once I deleted the reservation/binding, everything works great.

Apologies and thanks again for your help!

Does this only work to AWS MediaLive, or also to AWS IVS now?

No, I have tried yesterday with the newest firmware, but still no success. I don't have an AWS account that allows me to submit these things to Amazon. If someone has one of these paid corporate accounts and is willing to do so, that would be awesome

There is a issue with the Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro using an older, unsupported version of TLS (v1.1) when making RTMPS connections. This does not meet the minimum requirement of TLS v1.2 when using IVS and is the reason why the device cannot connect. The TLS version requirement for streaming to IVS is mentioned at the bottom of this document: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ivs/latest/ ... cture.html

Unfortunately I do not find any official information or a notice for an update.

Best regards Stefan

TLS 1.1 is being dropped by a number of web browsers (or at least disabled by default) and AWS is not the only one dropping support for this server-side also.

Hopefully BMD gets on top of this and updates the firmware with support for 1.2...?

I just bought the Atem mini Extreme and was planning on streaming to Amazon. I changed the XML file and the server showed up in the pop up menu on the Item software but no connection.

I also tried to copy the Facebook settings (partially) because the server also contains the rtmps url ending in 443 (I had a feeling this was part of the problem).

Still no luck. Any thoughts or solutions ?

Hi,

I just set up an Atem Mini Pro and it told me there s a fw update.
After the update i set up AWS IVS by basically copying the VImeo sections in Streaming.xml.
Streaming works ok (Video.js integration) and also Quality selection works.

Yes I also tried it on the Item mini Pro and it works...However it still doesn't work on the Item mini Extreme oddly enough.
Same XML settings, so it is probably an Extreme hardware issue?
