Replace 2me with 2 1me 4k switchers?

PostTue Sep 24, 2013 12:27 am

Asked this in another forum but figured I would ask here as well.

We have a 2me switcher and panel in our mcr and am toying with the idea of replacing it with 2 1me 4k switchers when they are available.

Pros and cons I could think of.

Pros:
1080p! and 4k
additional dve
Little bit of redundancy if 1 fails
20 total inputs
can control both at the same time on the 2me panel (although probably won't be able to direct access the auxs and stuff from the 3rd row on the 2nd switcher)

Cons:
less shared auxs / inputs (would have both on our 72x72 router so not a big deal)
No super source (we are getting a vista Spyder so not a big deal)
seperate media pool

Am I missing or overlooking something? Would love peoples thoughts.

Thanks.

With this you would get 4 media players in two separate pools, which i think is a good thing.
Television Studio, Macbook Pro, Mac Mini, Canon XA20
