ATEM Mini Pro Noise

PostThu Jan 07, 2021 8:07 pm

Just got my new ATEM Mini Pro yesterday and took it out of the box this morning and plugged it in and it has been making noise the entire time.

Sounds like maybe a fan? Right when I plug it in it makes almost like a softer version of the noise a chain saw makes when you start it. Then it settles into a low hum.

It's loud enough that it seems not right and the unit got warm pretty quickly though I'm not sure how much noise I should expect it to make or how warm I can expect it to get.

Can anyone help?

Yeah, I just got mine yesterday and experienced the same type of noise. If I move the device around, the noise will stop. I also noticed that if I let it run for a few minutes, the noise goes away. This seems to be a common problem. BMD really needs to fix this. More than likely, this is a result of using a cheap fan :(

Regarding the device getting warm, I would say that is common with any device that has HDMI connections. That's been my experience anyway.
