Bricked Video Assist 7" 12g HDR

PostMon Jan 11, 2021 4:54 pm

I bought this device and it got bricked on the 3rd test.
I just had time to use It for 1 hour or 2 before that.

I was playing some recorded captured footage from a camera over OBS streamlabs throught USB C to USB C port on a P15 thinkpad

The device was sitting in front of me, I wasn't touching the device at that time.

Had 2 New Sony NPF battery , no power supply. First use of the 2 batteries, not charged whatsoever , out of the box.

Batteries were 2/3 full.
When the 1st battery ran out, the device stopped (I guess).
It wouldn't switch back on. Black screen, no backlight or anything.

Tried on the power supply after removing the batteries. Nothing changes.

Heard a faint noise coming throught the back of the device.
removed the power plug, put the 2nd battery on the the 1st battery Slot : same faint noise.

I hope it's not an issue with the new streaming capability and the firmware update. I love this update and I need to use it for work. It would be disastrous if it bricked the other videoassist while streaming when the device should automaticaly switch battery.

Maybe you guys should keep the device on power supply while waiting to find an explanatio. If it's bad luck or a real issue!

Best regards.
Eden.

Sounds like a hardware failure, you should contact your BMD Support office to get it fixed or replaced.
