Strata Pro * iPad setup

PostFri Sep 27, 2013 10:26 pm

Problem is this. Hooked up ATEM 4k and laptop to Netgear wireless router. All good for laptop with ATEM 4k. Installed new StrataPro on iPad. Logged into network. All good. Launced StrataPro and typed in ATEM IP. Nothing. Not hooked up to internet. Step by step here would be great. BTW - Love the new switcher. Help here would be greatly appreciated.

I don't believe Strata supports the new 4k yet, does it?

You have not provided sufficient information to allow us to diagnose or help you figure out what the actual problem is.

Did you configure the router correctly? e.g. The router will need to be setup so it is on the same subnet/gateway settings as the ATEM (or the other way around).

So... tell us what the IP address/Subnet/Gateway of the ATEM... and confirm that is how you have configured the router.

It won't just work by plugging things in and hoping for the best.

e.g. if your ATEM is configured with default settings (IP 192.168.10.240 Subnet 255.255.255.0 and Gateway 192.168.10.1) then you must configure the router to also use the same LAN IP address range/subnet and gateway

Okay, so it's likely a networking issue.

Is the switcher configured to its default static IP of 192.168.10.240, or have you changed it? If so, to what?

How is the DHCP server in the wireless router configured?

Not exactly sure what I'm doing but got into the router and changed the lan settings to match the ATEM. Ran the Strata ap and it didn't work - then it did - then it didn't. Not sure what the next step is. Also just installed the newest iPad OS 7.0.2. Same problem is now happening with my laptop going through the router. On and disappears. This all happened after I changed the router to match the ATEM's IP address.

I decided to run the setup wizard on the router and it allows me to put in the ip address subnet and gateway. Asking next for DNS primary, secondary and third. I have no idea what to type in here. This stuff is totally off my radar. Appreciate the help.

My post gave already gave you the information you will need

It will ask for the ip/subnet. Enter 192.168.10.1 as the routers IP address. It should ask for subnet. Make that 255.255.255.0. Then everything should work (as long as the IP address of the ATEM is still the default of 192.168.10.240

Sorry to open up an old post, but I have been having all kinds of fits trying to get this thing to happen. My setup is a little different, so I'll outline it below:

My switcher is an ATEM Television Studio, I use the control software on a Mac Mini. I have the switcher set to all default network settings(192.168.10.240, 255.255.255.0, and 192.168.10.1, respectively). I have tried both using an AirPort Express and creating an AdHoc network directly from the Mini, to no avail, clearly I am missing something.

As per the created network on the mini, I set it up and chose manual ip configuration, and am presented with the following three options(plus a few others, but they aren't pertinent here):

IP
Subnet
Router

It won't let me proceed with just two of the fields, so I'm not real sure what I need to enter here. As to the previous posters and other documentation I've seen, I have done variations on the following:

IP: 192.168.10.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.10.1 <--(this I have tried changing around to other things within the same ip class)

Do I need to mess with settings on my iPad? Do I need different values for the above fields? I emailed the Strata support, and their rep simply told me the following: "a hint to help you: Your wired and wireless networks are on different ranges and are not bridged, therefore you should not expect traffic to cross between them. You have 2 networks, not one."

I understand what he's saying, it makes total sense. I have no clue how to fix it though... any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

use AIRport express .. connect there ATEM TVS .. connect IPAD and MAC MINI with wifi to AIRPORT express .. U will get any IP adress .. for example 192.168.10.X ... U can check your ip adress :
on IPAD u select in wireless settings on coonected AP name sign i in circle .. U see there DHCP , and ip adress under ..
on Mac MINI go to system preferences/network -> U see Wifi , and u see IP adress there ..

U must get 192.168.10.A on ipad and 192.168.10.B on MAC MINI ..

then connect to TVS with USB , and setup ipadress 192.168.10.C .. A, B and C mus be different number ..
everywhere will be MASK : 255.255.255.0
and GW : 192.168.10.1

number 192.168.10. can be anything .. it depend on your AIRport Express settings ..

I apologize for this "old topic" but I am a high school teacher who is trying to teach new tricks to an old dog. I do not have my ATEM ME1 using the default settings any longer. I couldn't get it to work with my mac, if I didn't change the ip address. With that said, after plugging in a router do I simply change the settings of the router to match what my ip, subnet and gateway are for the ATEM ME1 to get it to work. Thank you.

Cheerco. You could do that... or even simpler.. change the IP/subnet/gateway for your ATEM.

Does anyone have connection problem?
During the live event, I will lose connection sometime. And it will come back on later.
I already update the latest firmware on the router. Even I wired connect my MacBook Pro as a control to the router, I will also lose connection.

Is it common? It's software problem or hardware problem

My setup
ATEM tv studio
Retina MacBook Pro (control)
Link 610 wireless router
iPhone with strata view on each camera
BMCC 2.5k, Canon 5D mk3
Canon 24-70mm f2.8, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 II, Rokinon 14mm cine T3.1
Edelkrone Slider Plus v2, iFootage mini crane M1, Glidetrack Hybrid HD with Steadicam arm & vest, Atomos Samurai
