Sorry to open up an old post, but I have been having all kinds of fits trying to get this thing to happen. My setup is a little different, so I'll outline it below:
My switcher is an ATEM Television Studio, I use the control software on a Mac Mini. I have the switcher set to all default network settings(192.168.10.240, 255.255.255.0, and 192.168.10.1, respectively). I have tried both using an AirPort Express and creating an AdHoc network directly from the Mini, to no avail, clearly I am missing something.
As per the created network on the mini, I set it up and chose manual ip configuration, and am presented with the following three options(plus a few others, but they aren't pertinent here):
IP
Subnet
Router
It won't let me proceed with just two of the fields, so I'm not real sure what I need to enter here. As to the previous posters and other documentation I've seen, I have done variations on the following:
IP: 192.168.10.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.10.1 <--(this I have tried changing around to other things within the same ip class)
Do I need to mess with settings on my iPad? Do I need different values for the above fields? I emailed the Strata support, and their rep simply told me the following: "a hint to help you: Your wired and wireless networks are on different ranges and are not bridged, therefore you should not expect traffic to cross between them. You have 2 networks, not one."
I understand what he's saying, it makes total sense. I have no clue how to fix it though... any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!
