Stuttering video from ATEM Mini Extreme ISO (w/Sony a6000 )

PostMon Mar 22, 2021 12:06 am

Hi, I have the following setup on my ATEM Mini Extreme ISO:

2x Sony Alpha a6000 DSLR cameras plugged into HDMI inputs 1 and 2
HDMI out 1: Asus monitor
USB 1: PC USB 3.1 port (for connecting to Software Control, or using as a webcam)

When monitoring the output of the ATEM, the video signal occasionally stutters.
I tried taking the PC out of the equation by unplugging the USB, but the same thing happens with just the cameras, the ATEM, and the monitor.

Any ideas on what I should try next?

Thanks,
Johnny

So, I may have found the solution to this.

I started clicking around in the Software Control settings and clicked the gear icon in the bottom left.
I saw a setting called "video standard" which was set to 1080p 24.
It seemed that stuttering may be related to frame rate, so I tried changing this to Auto Mode.

After changing the video standard to Auto Mode, it's now showing that it's detected from the a6000 cameras as 1080p 59.94. I haven't noticed any stuttering yet after making this change.

Sir, thank you very much!

I was worried about this stuttering (sometimes just a little, sometimes very strong!). I thought the internal processors of the ATEM Extremo ISO were not sufficient for playing an MP4 file!!!!! ;-)

But it was just a matter of going to the Atem Software Control Settings and in General, 'Set video standard to AUTO MODE. And now everything seems to be fine!

Thanks a lot.
