Web Presenter HD + Constellation Rec2020 Issue

Having issue with the timecode out of Constellation 8K, when it is running at 1080p59.94 Level B. This is a huge issue with HyperDecks and it is also apparent on the Teranex SDI Distro. I believe it is the same reason. The timecode would flash from the actual timecode then back to zeros.

I have the Same issue.. Constellation into the Teranex AV in HD will cause the Timecode to go Blink between Timecode and 00:00:00:00 It just freaks out customers..

I can't believe I have to bump this up in 2022. But Blackmagic, your Constellation 8K still does not work with your Web Presenter HD.

Just being curious, does Constellation HD have the same issue, or are only 8K affected?

i solved the problem of color saturation in web presenter 4k. I use an atem constellation 8k 1080p25 and I cannot change the A level, while with other configurations like 1080p60 it is possible to change the level to A. In this way the saturation disappears. However I solved it using a miniconvert updowncross hd setting the sdi output in 1080p25 and by magic the sutaration in the web presenter is cleared, setting the color in BT 709 and no more BT 2020. Hope this can help you too.

I've had an email exchange for the last two weeks with Blackmagic Design support. Here's what they told me...

We are aware of a colorspace issue with the ATEM Constellation 8K and are working on a fix. The ATEM is incorrectly flagging all 1080p/1080i sources in the Rec. 2020 colorspace, which causes the Web Presenter models to honor that flag and display the picture with the incorrect color profile.

As a workaround, you can use the Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI and connect the SDI output to the Web Presenter.

We're going to install one of these Micro Converters on our SDI line going into our WebPresenter 4K to solve this issue while we wait for the firmware update. Support told me that the Micro Converter takes off the flag.

Well they've only been aware of the issue for 3 years - I'm sorry but I just don't believe they are working in it -

This is a real pain for us, we've now stopped using our 3 4K Web Presenters with our multiple ATEM 8Ks, it's just too much of a pain.

However much I love using Blackmagic kit - this is really dissappointing for their flagship vision mixer.

You have to set SDI Level A in the ATEM as long as you have an HD output signal. It will work.
Of course, if you switch to UHD, you also have to switch to Level B.
