Atem Mini Extreme can't connect

I recently got the Atem Mini Extreme, updated from the Atem mini. I'm trying to connect the extreme to my MacBook pro same way I used to connect the mini, via usb-c cable but for some reason when I connect the Extreme, the software does not recognize it. I get the no Switcher found error message. I can't seem to figure out what the problem is. I've tried like 5 different usb-c cables and nothing works. Why can the Atem mini connect right away but the Extreme does not?

Sometimes when I open Atem Software Control my Extreme also doesn't connect, but when I open the Atem setup program, and click on the right icon it just works fine.

For anyone finding this thread after all the years...

On MacOS (maybe PC, but I don't have one...), if you can
  • connect via the ATEM Setup app using USB,
  • set the IP address (I use DHCP...),
  • update the firmware,
  • Launch the ATEM Software Control
  • and Software Control's connect to switcher dialog shows your ATEM on its list of devices,
  • BUT trying to CONNECT does nothing
Go find/download the disk image for the ATEM Control Software and run the UNINSTALL program, then reinstall.

This fixed the problem for me.
