Blackmagic Mini Converter Settings for Quad HD (2540 x 1440)

PostTue Jun 08, 2021 9:52 pm

Hi people,

Does anyone have experience in sending 2560x1440 signals through a Blackmagic Mini Converter HDMI to SDI 6G box, over SDI cable, and back through a Blackmagic Mini Converter SDI to HDMI 6G box? This is for a theatre show where the distance run is over 30m (hence the need for SDI cable rather than straight HDMI).

My source is a macbook pro (2560 x 1440) HDMI and my receiving unit is a Matrox Quad2Go (which is expecting (2540 x 1440) HDMI
Unfortunately, the Matrox sees an unstable image and keeps dropping out

Can someone advise me on the dip switch settings for the Blackmagic HDMI-SDI and SDI-HDMI boxes? I'm assuming this is the issue.

thanks,
Nic

2540X1440 isn't a valid HDSDI resolution, UHD, HD, or DCI resolutions are required. The supported resolutions and rates are available on the product page.

The only solution for this is fiber, but how are you getting the logical config to the Matrox? are you using a USB extender with a powered hub? Use fiber HDMI conversion or dial it back to 1080p
