Difficulty with ATEM mini as webcam

Hi, all...

I'm having difficulty with the ATEM mini's webcam function. It doesn't work will with FaceTime or Google Meet on a Mac running OS Big Sur.

I'm using the HDMI output of my Sony A6500, and I'm inputting the audio signal from my shotgun mic into the ATEM mini's Mic 1 input. The audio is working fine. The Mac recognizes and properly considers the USB mic.

Sometimes the webcam function works fine right off the bat, but most of the time I get no image, or I get "camera muted" from Google Meet. Then after 10 minutes or so, the image appears.

I've changed USB cables, to no avaIl. One possible wrench: the USB signal to the Mac is going through the USB hub of my KVM switch. Can't remember if I tried it without the KVM switch. Thanks.

I would try it directly connected to the computer instead of through the KVM switch.

I did that. No joy. Any other suggestions? I've ordered a new cable that supports USB 3.1 Gen 1. Let's see if that helps.

I've had similar difficulties getting it to work with Teams on a PC.

Curiously, it works fine with Teams on a Mac.

Microsoft should be embarrassed.
