Would be nice to have a decent upgrade from my 1M/E but I can't see it coming. Also with the current chip issues anything new that they announce will likely take 6 months to show up anyway.

I expect that it will be a 1 hour show to tell how the new update for CCU panels works and the new routing with videohub panels on the constellation..

Dont expect mayor big new things in a time that BMD is struggling to deliver ANY products due to current chip market situation..

So there best effort can be to release multiple FW updates to make there products better and more functional. ;)

You'll have to wait for the next live production update to add those functions. This *is* BMD after all

If they come out with yet another version of the ATEM Mini I think I will lose my mind.

My guess is an updated Ursa Broadcast version 2.

And an Atem Mini Super Extreme ;)

Make Ursa Mini G2 and UMP12k controllable with ATEM Mini via a SDI converter or a whole new ATEM Mini Extreme SDI/HDMI.

Ive been hoping for a Broadcast camera with the fiber back built in and not a "hybrid" add-on style where things aren't integrated. But not holding my breath. Either way, Uber Eats on friday and watch along.

Just for fun here is my speculation, part wish list

New rack mounted Pro model(s) with SDI inputs similar to the Mini Extreme, with 2M/E as well. With 4K video perhaps.

The mini ISO models have software upgrade that can write out projects with DVE and Supersource. Resolve gets an upgrade too because it was too hard to create proper project files from the Mini ISO, so a different project format is created that needs a new version of Resolve to read.

The Extreme is revealed as secretly having a bit of extra memory for storing a short video clip and the Sting button now works.

The Extreme has a change so the four upstream chroma keyers can be put into the video stream before Supersource so you can do Supersource looking at multiple angles of a virtual set. (I have never understood why there are four upstream keyers when it is only possible to use the output from one at a time.)

The Extreme model has enough DVEs and keyers to be two Mini Pros, so new ATEM Mini Ultra model which is the Extreme but internally rearranged to be a 2M/E. If we are lucky we get an extra DVE or DSK thrown in as well.

Pro and above gain ability to create an extra stream (identical rates for both streams and sharing the buffer space, just a different destination.) Alternatively the Streaming bridge gains the ability to send to a different destination the stream it has received, which would be a somewhat delayed daisy chain.

Firmware upgrade for the pocket cinema cameras so that the HDMI output can be a 1080 window on any part of the sensor and the position can be controlled from ATEMs.

Fusion supports the Davinci Resolve Speed Editor, or there is a new specific Speed Editor for Fusion.

Regards,

Tim

I saw it but it leads to forget a large part of the world. With 31 website languages, a local sign will be more customers friendly.
Do BMD love customers as customers love BMD ? You have until 17H GMT for the test

May I guess we will see a couple of studio and remote cameras.
Moving into compact mobile streaming units would enable BM to get into a faster moving live segments.

They are also a bit lacking on the audio side and as so many others are doing compact audio recorders/transmitters I can see BM releasing some with a complete integration with their eco system.
Or why not a multi channel audio recorder/reciever/mixer and add some competition to Zoom and SD after Tascam et al is fading away.

Soooo, I need someone to make a 50-200mm mft lens with electronic zoom under $1,000. Get on it, STAT!

New hyperdecks are nice, glad they kept a model with SSD support.

Cameras could be interesting but I have no use for them in my workflow.

IMO it's a missed opportunity not to include a 1G Ethernet port with NDI support on the lower end studio camera that's intended for the ATEM Mini switcher. NDI-to-HDMI converters are in the US $350 range and with the announcement of NDI 5 it would have opened up some nice use cases.

Sure - I can use BMD's HDMI-to-SDI converters for longer distances - and yes NDI means giving up remote camera control - but having both NDI and HDMI would have added a lot of flexibility. At US $1295, I personally am not drawn to a camera with only HDMI connections.

If they can make the Focus Demand and Zoom Demand work via USB-C on my BMPCC 4K, I've got a pretty capable studio and film camera :)

I hope for people who ordered BMD studio camera since many months, will receive new cams as it's the same price. ;)

I note that hyperdeck 12G (new 4K) offer fill and key and easy ssd pcb repair. I hope software will allow easy slow motion.

web presenter 4K : will streaming bridge 4K follows ?

not bad updates !

I'm pretty sure there's no chance Newtek will sell an NDI video source license to BMD...

I'm not sure I understand your logic. Perhaps BMD might not like the licensing terms however Newtek already license NDI to a good number of camera manufacturers whose form factors are a lot closer to Newtek's two camera models than anything BMD sells. It would not be fair business practice to prevent a company from licensing a standard that is intended to be adopted by as many manufacturers as possible, nor to charge one substantially more than the others.

man, a list of compatible zoom-controlled lenses would be fantastic.
We want to jump on several of these, but don't have a compatibility list... is there?

Do any of these have barrel distortion correction activated on camera? Could be useful for live work...

Time code on all the mini Hyperdecks is great, but no analog audio input on any model. Seriously? Where do they think the audio comes from when recording ISOs?

Given that every time I've sent in a Hyperdeck for repair, they don't repair them, any future deck failure will require a rack rewire to add an external embedder. Not cool.

I did not hear anything about computer control for the new decks. I take it they still don't have a reasonable control interface to set up the decks and do things like gang record with Ethernet control.
