Remove black borders using Blackmagic 6k

PostWed Oct 20, 2021 2:14 pm

Hi

I am using the Blackmagic 6k + a GoPo 10 + a phone + a Canon 600D with my Atom Mini Pro.

The Blackmagic 6k produces black borders top and bottom. I understand it has to do with the aspect ratio. Is there a way to set the Atem so that it will zoom in slightly every time I activate the Blackmagic 6k view?

The Canon 600D has borders on the sides so I also need to zoom that in. I know I can use overlays and macros, but would prefer not to use macros.

I want to record to a hard drive and I don't have the ability at the moment to connect my laptop to the Atem when I am at a client. I don't have a router available. So I have to do something that doesn't need macros.

I have half a solution for this.

Set the Atem Mini to 50 fps or lower. Then it is possible to select full 6k and get 16:9 aspect ratio. That will remove the black borders from the Blackmagic input. I don't know yet how to zoom in a camera without macros.
