Video Assist 5'' 3G - Battery Charge while AC?

Hello everyone,

I kind of found posts regarding this issue with different models but could not find an answer regarding this exact one:
Is it possible to charge batteries with the VA 5'' 3G? The battery life drains rather quickly.

I remember working at a place where this was possible but maybe there are different 5'' generations? (It was not the 5'' 12G they had there, that I know) Does this depend on the type of batteries I am using?

I have the 3G 7" version. Has this question been answered as I'd like to know if this feature works/exists too

I'm not at the studio right now (so I can't look) but we have a 3G model and it does charge the battery through the DC cable. It'll even charge while in use but only if the power supply is high enough amperage (>2 amps). Otherwise, it'll only charge while powered off.

Edit: we have the 4k. As such I can't speak on the how the 3G one works.
