No Desktop Video Device Detected - Apple Mac M1

PostSun Nov 14, 2021 4:12 pm

System configuration: Mac mini (M1, 2020)
OS: macOS Monterey
Product: Intensity Shuttle
Application: Desktop Video Setup v 12.2

Intensity Shuttle gets detected fine in an Intel based Mac running Big Sur, but same device isn't working in macOS Monterey with Apple M1 chipset. Exploring this on google and trying different workarounds, I noticed that .kext files are not placed in "/Library/StagedExtensions/Library/Extensions", in-fact StagedExtensions folder is empty after installation of "Desktop Video Setup v 12.2". I tried to install v12 and v11.7 but StagedExtensions aren't getting created.
Couple of other workarounds which I have tried but don't work:
  1. Boot in recovery mode, disable csrutil and then install the application
  2. Moved StagedExtensions from Intel based mac and placed in "/Library/StagedExtensions/Library/Extensions"[/li]

None of them helped in detecting Intensity Shuttle:

Although the device is detected fine in System Report, screenshot below:

Kindly suggest how to make Intensity Shuttle work in macOS Monterey with Apple M1 chipset.

Hi,

Exactly the same thing with iMac Monterey 12,2,1 with Intel core i9 10c cores 3,6Ghz.
There is the shuttle in system report but not detecting in Blackmagic desktop video Setup.

Kindly suggest how to make Intensity Shuttle work in macOS Monterey with INTEL chipset.

Same thing here on several Macs running Monterey 10.3.1 such as MacBook Pro (16" 2021) M1 Max. Intensity Shuttle (Thunderbolt, connected by Apple USB-C Adapter).

None of the Intensity Shuttle variants appear to be supported on the Apple Silicon macs, going by the list of supported devices in the readme from the latest version of Desktop Video. Only the Intensity Pro 4K is listed as being compatible with Apple Silicon.

The USB version does not appear to be supported at all in the latest versions, so it might not be compatible with Monterey on Intel either?

Did anyone find a solution? I just switched from my MacBook Pro mid 2012 (!) to an m2 MacBook Air (of my girlfriend) and cannot get the intensity shuttle usb 3.0 running. Is it worth to switch to the ultra studio monitor 3g thunderbolt or is it better to go immediately to the new mini HD or mini 4k? I will get a Macbook m2 max in the next weeks, does the intensity shuttle usb 3.0 work there?
