Live TV MultiView Control Panel users?

PostTue Nov 12, 2013 2:10 am

I would like to hear from users of Live TV MultiView Control Panel which is a 3rd party controller program for ATEM TV Studio from a firm in Poland. How do you like the software? Is it worth the $313.50 USD price? Are there any problems working it with Win7? Any other issues? Thanks

Yes that's it. I have not been able to try out the demo(5 min time limit) with the TV Studio hardware my instructor has. But you can place the view pane next to the control panel on the same laptop screen. Then to switch you just click the mouse on the pane you want. I have not been allowed to try it but that is how it is supposed to work. I think you then use keyboard mapped keys for wipes etc. I would like to talk to a user of this add-on to let my instructor know if it's worth the $300USD cost. Thanks

The value of this program is to make switching between screens with a mouse click on the playing video possible. Instead of clicking on the control panel buttons. It makes it like the multi-camera editor feature in CS6 Premiere Pro. So as you are watching the 6 windows of video you just click on the one you want without having to look down at the push button control panel.
I should be able to test it out myself in the next couple of weeks as I have limited access to the ATEM TV Studio. I would like to hear of other users of it. Please post. Thanks

I see. The Black Magic ATEM TV Studio $995 USD has no physical buttons on the unit. It comes with a software control panel that shows on a laptop screen. It connects with a network cable and a usb cable to the laptop. So it requires mouse clicks to work it.

Thanks for replying

You can use keyboard shortcuts for basic switching (selecting program/preview sources and doing a cut/fade)

Do you have a technican ?

If yes, you could create a hardwarepanel based on an arduiono microcontroller for low budget.

You you are right. It is very easy to use for cutting, to tip the wanted picture with your finger. Maybe you will need a second preview monitor or have to take away your finger / hand after every cut, so you can see all sources....

Don't forget, that if you'll need additional functions (like color, DSK, USK and all setup), you'll also need some buttons to select it (which ar not implemented at touch-screen-controller)....

By the way :

1.) USB you'll need only for network-setup und live streaming or recording.
2.) The software control has some shortcuts (to select previed source, program, cut and mix/fade)
3.) Wait for buying "external" solutions, because BM has changed the transmission protocol for controlling the ATMS (all models) ....
