ATEM Television Studio HD in 3GA with Avermedia Capture SDI

PostFri Nov 26, 2021 11:15 am

Hello Guys, I'm new on this subject. I hope I can get some help.

My Scenario:
- Atem Television Studio HD (PGM 1080p50, Preview 1080p25)
- Sony a6000 (1080p50) HDMI 1 (Cam 1)
- Sony a6000 (1080p50) SDI 1 (Cam 4)
- Sony a6000 (1080p50) SDI 2 (Cam 3)
- HDMI preview output (monitor)
- SDI pgm -> Avermedia ExtremeCap SDI/USB3 (only supports 3G-A)

Everything works only SDI PGM is not working.
I got everything in my preview. But to live stream I would like to use my Avermedia ExtremeCap SDI/USB3 which only accepts 3GA input sources, and is up to 1080p60.

If I connect it to the PGM SDI output, it doesn't work and the Avermedia shows the red LED.
If I set the ATEM Television Studio HD to output the preview in 1080p25 and connect it to the Avermedia I can get the preview signal on my computer.

How can I make sure that I'm running 3GA 1080p50 out of my PGM SDI output?

I was thinking in buy a Blackmagic UpDownCross device but is out of stock in the EU. And it should not be necessary, right?

There is an option for the 3G SDI Output Level in the switcher settings screen of the ATEM Software (press gear icon to reach it). This option is on the General settings tab where the video standard of the switcher is configured. See page 64 of the manual for more details:
https://documents.blackmagicdesign.com/ ... 4364411000

The default setting for 3G SDI Output is Level B for compatibility with some Blackmagic products that only work with Level B signals.
