Best practice for analogue audio

PostWed Dec 01, 2021 3:14 am

Hi there,

What is the best practice for bringing in multiple (8 or more) XLR analogue audio inputs into an ATEM Switcher so I can independently adjust levels of each of the audio inputs in the switcher.

I'm trying to avoid using an analogue audio mixer. I'd like to do the mixing with the ATEM Switcher.

Thank you,
Cyprian

If you had 8 cameras or other video input sources, I suppose you could feed a separate analog audio source into each camera. But cameras don't necessarily have the best microphone preamps or audio processing capabilities.

So using a separate analog or digital audio mixer is usually the best practice with that number of audio inputs.
