Select source to record in atem extreme

PostThu Dec 09, 2021 11:12 am

I am using an atem mini extreme (note the ISO one) and i want to record one of the cameras attached to it (a ptz camera that cannot record by itself. As far as i know, the record button on the mini only records the program feed, no?

I only want to record a camera that is not going to be used in the program feed. Is it there a way to tell the mini to record the hdmi2 aux output instead of the PGM?

If not, i am planning to capture it with a magewell usb card and record it in OBS...

You are correct in thinking that the non-ISO models only record program (if at all).

Unless you have a very simple case where you could send the camera always to the program feed and use the other HDMI output on the Extreme as the true program, I can't see a way around this.

One could leverage the clean feed by setting the ptz cam as the key source. “Program” would have the ptz on top, this would be hidden in the clean feed. The cost here is the keyer.

Good Luck
