DVI extender and Matrox M9140 LP

PostSat Nov 16, 2013 7:08 am

Hello All,

I have a PC with Matrox M9140 LP quad graphics card and I need to set up a display that supports only SDI 1080i 50Hz as a secondary monitor.
So I've got Blackmagic DVI Extender, connected it to one of the video outputs, installed the Convert Utility, upgraded the extender's firmware and set it to the converter mode. Then I connected dvi extender to that display with an sdi cable.

Then I've set up the secondary output's resolution and frequency in a Matrox Powerdesk, and I was able to choose 1920*1080@50Hz there. But my display shows a black screen and surprisingly indicates that incoming signal is 480i 60Hz.

I tried to do this with an nVidia NVS 450 graphics card, and it worked. But I have to give it back, so could anybody tell me whether Blackmagic DVI converter is compatible with Matrox graphic cards, and if yes, what am I doing wrong?

Thank you!
