SDI sync slipping

PostMon Nov 18, 2013 9:55 pm

Hi. I'm using a sony PDW700 xdcam camera. I have a number of BMD devices that I use in conduction with this camera: Hyperdeck studio, hyper deck shuttle, intensity extreme, ultra studio mini recorder.

In all of the above the SDI video and embedded audio start off fine but start slipping out of sync very soon. It's not a fixed delay either. I recently shot a rugby match (80 mins) and captured live to my macbook pro using my intensity extreme. By the end of the match it was nearly 300 frames out of sync.

Logic would tell me that it's the camera but I'm not sure. I feed other devices (e.g. satellite trucks) and have not been informed of any issues.

I'm going to test using analog audio tomorrow.

Is there something really simple that I'm missing here??

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

HELP!!!!!
(thanks!!)

Sounds like dropped video frames, hence software issue. Video ahead of Audio, or Audio ahead of video?

Video ahead of audio. Any idea would IRE setting on BMD desktop video be a factor?
