ATEM UHD 4K Multi View support

PostFri Mar 04, 2022 5:49 pm

Do any of the ATEM units support 2160 UHD resolution for the Multi View output? I’m currently using a 2 M/E Production Studio 4K and purchased new 4K monitors (connected via HDMI) and am still getting only 1080 HD. In the ATEM Software Control the Multi View resolution option is greyed out.

Yes, the ATEM Broadcast Studio 4K (4 M/E) supports 4K multiview up to 2160p30. And the ATEM Constellation 8K supports up to 2160p60 resolution for its multiviewers.

Most of the other ATEM units only have HD multiviewers.

Blackmagic also has 2 standalone multiviewer units that support 4K Ultra HD multiview output (up to 2160p30 resolution): the MultiView 4 and MultiView 16.

Wouldn't it be great if the current line-up of Multiview Units (Multiview 4, 4HD, 16) would have 12G SDI outputs (2160p60)? Our PTZ operators (RCO) would love to have a native look on their camera's that operate in 1080p50 mode. We could off course still plug them in, but the current line-up only has a 6G SDI output at best and that would down convert them to 1080p25, losing a native view on the frame rate of the camera's.

Anyone else who would love this feature or am I the only one?

that would be a next-generation set of multiview units.
the 16x should include the much more flexible engine used in the new mixers.

I'm struggling with something that should be so basic, so I fear I'm missing something!
Why is my multi view standard selection greyed out? My switcher video standard is set to 1080p50 (which is exactly what I want), and I just got a new shmancy TV to use for the multi view that can do practically any resolution, so I'd like to set the multi view standard to the same (I understand that my ATEM 2 M/E Production Studio 4k is limited to HD on the multi view output) as the switcher standard at 1080p50. But... the multi view standard selection dropdown is greyed out on 1080i50.
Why is it greyed out, and therefore why can't I change this to 1080p50?
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Sean

Hey! I am struggling with that too, and I was wondering what's the reason it's greyed out. Couldn't find a reason of unavailability of the option in manual too.
Hope there's someone in here who knows the answer :)
