Anyone knows how to reset atem mini extreme to factory setting?

I not sure whether there is a full factory reset option, but you can do a firmware reset/reinstall on the ATEM Mini as described in this post: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=143666&p=773207#p771796

And you can also reset some of the configuration settings using the "Clear Startup State" option:

If I remember there is a combination of button presses that resets the ATEM to factory settings. I forget what it is where I saw that though

Power off the Atem by disconnecting the power cable, press and hold the upper left button and power on. Led’s will flash and you can release the button. After that connect with Atem Software and install software.
Keep in mind this doesn’t work with the latest 8.6.4 software. If you have 8.6.4 you have to install first version 8.6.3.

By the way, because this message is posted a year ago I didn't test with the latest software.

And still this is NOT a factory reset It is just a way to Force the Atem into bootloader mode and wait for new firmware.

It does NOT reset anything as it often just keeps its settings from Save Startup state as they are loaded after the reboot

A few people are mistakenly calling this the Factory reset.. But it is implemented to get a corrupt firmware unit that is not running OKE to get into bootloader again to reflash it's firmware..

So stop calling it Factory reset!!


And no BMD does not have a Factory reset mode / button / feature.


So tell us what is wrong with it that you need a "Factory reset"???

In the ATEM Software Control, go to File->Clear Startup State. Power cycle the unit and it will be back to factory settings.

Quick note to say this is ALSO untrue... clearing status and rebooting does not RESET athe ATEM and this even post the steps above... it simply DOES NOT WORK.

There are lots of discussions about resetting the ATEM to factory. While there are lots of theories, there is no factory reset for the ATEM switchers. There are things you can reset in various ways. The Clear the Startup State will remove any switching and settings made in the Palates menus. When you select Clear the Startup State (or Save The Startup State) it is important to wait around 20-30 seconds before a power cycle or the NVRAM will not be fully set. Setting made in the Setup Menus (Gear Icon lower left) cannot be cleared with any buttons or software change.

If you would like something that "simulates" a factory reset, I put together this xml. Extract from zip file. First use the File->Clear The Startup State from the ATEM software. Wait 20-30 seconds and power cycle the ATEM. Then use File->Recover this xml. It will clear most everything including the media. Note it will say it is made on a Constellation 8K which is true but will load into any ATEM and clear what it can. I hope this helps.

Thanks Gary for this. I've read some posts where something stops working after working fine for up to a year or more and wondered if a total clear of the mini would make a difference.
