So we're using an opti-fiber converter to feed a projector 500ft away. Worked pretty well EXCEPT:
Transformed color (basically, no blacks) when also using an HDMI to SDI converter- then the reverse to an HDMI projector.
So the signal path is: HDMI to SDI converter, SDI to fiber, 500 foot fiber cable, fiber to SDI, SDI to HDMI, projector.
I'm sure it's some kind of color space issue. Does anyone know why the fiber converters are changing the color space of the projectors?
They are Eiki WUL100's, and we are using an ATEM TV studio on the front end. Output from switcher directly to projectors is perfectly normal. One thing- the projector says it's an interlaced signal on the info screen when you run the optical converters.
Thanks!
