how to use BDLKMINIREC with zoom?

I bought the "Blackmagic Design DeckLink Mini Recorder" PCI card with single SDI/HDMI input for a Sony SRG-X120 camera.

The goal is to use this camera with Zoom to broadcast church services and events.

The card works fine with the provided media express software, under Linux.

But the camera is not showing up in Zoom's video list.

Is there a guide on how to set this up?

Thanks in advance!

The camera supports a number of modes:

Video output formats:
1920×1080/59.94p (Level A)
1920×1080/59.94p (Level B)
1920×1080/59.94i
1920×1080/29.97p
1280×720/59.94p
1280×720/59.94p (HDMI: VGA)

The camera shipped with the top mode set. I did not get an image in Media Express until I got to the 3rd choice (1920×1080/59.94i).

Still nothing in Zoom, so I will reboot and try again. And if the problem persists, and Zoom knows nothing, I will try using OBS or DaVinci as a go-between.

What I don't know is if I am losing significant resolution in this mode compared to the top two?

Also, does Media Express have to be CLOSED before I open Zoom?

I don't think Zoom can see the BM mini recorder because Zoom is looking for a webcam. The atem mini will make your camera appear as a webcam. I believe magewell's dongle will make your camera appear as a webcam as well.

OBS and wirecast can make your camera on the mini recorder appear like a virtual webcam so that should work for you.

Any HDMI to USB dongle will do what you want. I have this one from Atomos:

I use it to do exactly what you're looking to do: but I feed the HDMI output of my ATEM to Zoom for my remote guests.

Thanks Lance!

OBS has no problem with the camera input. And its "Virtual camera" mode works fine with zoom.

It turns out this is the "best" way to go because we also discovered how easy it is for OBS to mix in other media or cell phone cameras!

Check out my post today for my latest problem: out of the blue, I lost video from the card. I lost the card!
