Hi.
Since some months we have a strange behavior with recording to an SSD with our ATEM mini pro.
- I plug in the SSD to the ATEM and I see no remaining recording time in the multi-view screen
- But recording can be started and SSD LED shows that there is ongoing access
- If I unplug the SSD and plug it in to the ATEM again, it is not recognized anymore
- If I attach it to a PC and start the recording, I see very poor audio and video quality (like recorded with 320x240 pixels and extremely bad audio). But the file properties (e. g. from gspot or some other tool that reads the MPEG header) tell me that it is a 1080p50 video. And the file size is very small.
If I plug in another SSD on the ATEM, it is not recognized as well.
If I remove the power of the ATEM for some seconds and let it start again, it still does not recognize any USB drive.
To make it work again, I have to restore a config backup of the ATEM via the PC software
This issue happens unregularly. It can work for weeks, but then suddenly goes into this state.
The last time it happened during a recording. I saw later in the video that resolution and audio is fine until the remaining recording time disappeared on the multi-view screen.
I already checked the SSD which we use now for 1,5 years (with usage of approx. 1-2 hours per week) and did some intensive writing and reading tests. No issues there.
My current idea is that one of the last firmware updates (we use the latest 8.6.4) has a bug or that something is broken in the ATEM. Because if the SSD would have a defect, it would just stop working completely. But as there is still something written to the disk...
Any idea?
I will try with another SSD, but as this happens very unregularly, it can take some time to see any change.
In parallel I will also contact the support, if here no one states that this is a known issue.
Thanks & cheers
Patrick
