Smarthub App

PostFri May 13, 2022 6:13 pm

Interested in controlling our 20x20 smarthub and 12x12 with the app. Is it only available for an IPad,
or can it be controlled from an IPhone or Android as well?

Thanks for the help.

The official Blackmagic Smart Videohub app is only available for the iPad:

There is a 3rd party iOS app called VideoHubControl that runs on a wider range of iOS devices (including iPhones), but I've never tried it myself so couldn't say how well it works:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/videohubc ... 1438038502

I'm not sure if there are any native Videohub control apps for Android. There was a request for this back in 2012, but it seems like it's not really a priority: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1329

One other possibility to consider, is to use the Videohub module in Bitfocus Companion (https://bitfocus.io/companion/) in conjunction with their web interface. This would allow you to create web buttons to control a Videohub from any web browser, including on Android devices.

it can be controlled by anything that speaks tcp... just open a connection, and blast commands away
