ATEM mini 2ME control surface

PostWed May 18, 2022 10:06 am

Hey,

It would be great if the ATEM minis etc could be used as control surfaces via network for larger ATEM products.

For example, it would be super useful to have an ATEM mini as a dedicated surface to control the 2nd ME layer.

It could be very useful for distributed control with multiple operators.

Your second operator would have a much higher level of functionality by using the control software which is already incorporated into your system.
The controls on the ATEM Mini/Pro/Extreme hardware are really limited.

Yeah I understand that.
But hardware control would be nice.
Also it would be useful to have it be limited so they don't have access to each ME.

If you're after cheap hardware control then look at Companion combined with a streamdeck - would be much nicer than trying to use an Atem Mini as a surface - and you can limit it to the controls you actually need.

Any of the dedicated ATEM control surfaces (like the ATEM 1 M/E, 2 M/E, and 4 M/E Advanced Panel or even the older ATEM Control Panels) can be used to control an ATEM switcher.

But the hardware buttons and controls integrated into an ATEM switcher can only be used to control the switcher they are physically a part of.

Although this has come up as a request several times before, both for the ATEM Mini as well as for the earlier ATEM Television Studio Pro HD and ATEM Television Pro 4K switchers which also had integrated control surfaces. See many previous threads:
