hello, maybe i'm just blind. but doesn't the hyberdeck studio have an power on-off switch ?

Welcome to Blackmagic equipment.

It is one of the downsides to their equipment is most of their products like the hyper decks do not have a power switch.

It is beneficial in some situations and I can understand why, as it means no accidental bumping mid show and ruining it all! But for some uses it can be more annoying having to reach behind to unplug it to turn it off.

It's absolutely a benefit and not a problem - a recorder that loses power can risk corrupting your recording. If you want to be able to turn it off, power it from a power strip with a breaker.
