Microconverter HDMI to SDI 3G - no audio through NTT MVE5000

Our testing has showed: an HDMI video signal [with audio on channels 1&2 only] converted to SDI by the Blackmagic Microconverter 3G and connected to an MVE5000 coder: the vision / video signal gets through the coder / decoder ok but that audio channels are mute

However when using the older Blackmagic Microconverter [and the same HDMI signal] both the vision & both channels of audio work ok

The problem is the new Micro Converters HDMI to SDI 3G do NOT pass PCM audio! I have 20 of the older versions and they all work great. I bought 10 of the newer 3G version and they pass video but will not pass PCM 48Khz 16bit audio. I have had a case open with Black Magic for 6 months trying to get the issue resolved. They say it is my hardware / set up that is the issue.. ugh
