BMPC 6k Pro Switching Resolutions upon connection to ATEM

Hello all,

This maybe a novice issue, but I just cannot figure this out so I'm turning to the veterans on this one. I have a BMPC 6k Pro camera that I am connecting to the CAM1 input of my ATEM MINI PRO EXTREME ISO. I'd like to record to my Samsung drive that is connected to the camera in 1080p ProRes, but every time I connect to the ATEM it switches over to BRAW formats only and the lowest resolution I can record in is 2160p. Is there a setting on the camera or the ATEM to prevent this change? I've looked at the ATEM settings and found a dropdown that allows for choosing a default recording resolution and I have 1080p 30 selected, but the camera always switches over to BRAW and only gives me 2160p as the lowest resolution option.

Help me Obi-Wan BRAWnobi...you're my only hope!

depends on the camera control

you need a CEC killer:

Thanks for that suggestion, but I think there is a way to correct this problem between the two units without any additional attachments. Both products are made by Blackmagic and are supposed to work together. I shouldn't have to cancel out any HDMI CEC info. I'm guessing there is a setting either on the camera or in the ATEM that will correct this problem, I'm just asking people who use this setup regularly to tell me what to change.

Thanks again!

Guess all you like, it won't change the outcome, Mark is correct.

Good Luck

So the question then is why can I connect the 6k Pro via the same HDMI cable to a Atomos Ninja V and all the resolution options remain available, but when connected to the ATEM, a product also made by Blackmagic, the resolution options become limited? Anyone have a guess to that great mystery of the universe?

I can only guess the the reason could be limited processing power that can either be used for the color corrector (when connected to an ATEM) or processing intensive video compression algorithms.
