ATEM 4K 1 M/E: Static in XLR Output

PostTue Jun 21, 2022 6:31 pm

We've got an ATEM 4K 1 M/E that has an audio issue. One of the XLR audio outputs has heavily distorted sound coming out of it. Is there a replacement part we can purchase to fix? We broadcast often, and can't give the unit up for the weeks it would take to fix. Any solutions out there?

Unfortunately there aren't many user-replaceable parts on these units as most of the components are integrated into a single main circuit board. So when something goes wrong, usually the entire board has to be replaced (which often costs about as much as replacing the entire switcher).

If you are just using the XLR outputs to monitor program audio you could use an SDI audio disembedder (such as a Mini Converter SDI to HDMI or Mini Converter SDI to Audio) to extract analog program audio from one of the SDI video outputs.
