ATEM Mini Extreme ISO No USB-C Audio

PostSat Aug 13, 2022 10:21 pm

I have been trying to resolve this issue for months, I have scoured the Internet, watched numerous YouTube videos, browsed this forum, and I am not seeing a solution to my issue.

I have a variety of devices connected to my ATEM Mini Extreme ISO, multiple BMPCC, an iPhone, a couple of Mac computers and an AppleTV. Using the AppleTV as the easiest device to have continuous audio feed from my AppleTV is connected to the ATEM via HDMI, I then have a HDMI Monitor with speakers connected to the HDMI 2 output. If I select the input channel for the AppleTV, start some video with audio playing, enable the audio for that channel via the audio ON button, and turn up the speakers on the HDMI Monitor I hear sound. The mixer level meters in both the ATEM software Control, as well as the meters in the HDMI output to the Monitor show good audio level. I have the ATEM connected to my Mac Studio via USB-C. I receive video via the USB-C and can use any of the sources in applications such as Teams, or Zoom for video. However, no audio is present at all from any source connected to the ATEM via the USB-C to the Mac. Studio computer. And I have verified that other USB sources can feed audio into the Mac Studio with no issue.

So far I have tried multiple USB cables, even a Thunderbolt cable, different USB inputs on the Mac Studio. Software Control app detects the ATEM with no issue. The ATEM is also connected to my network via Ethernet and the Software Setup detects the correct IP address for the ATEM. I have updated to the latest version of ATEM software several times over the past months as new versions of software came out just to verify there was not a software bug in a specific version. I have tried every Audio setting in the Software Control app I can find to no avail. I have set the Audio Input on the Mac to every option available, including Blackmagic Design hardware device. I even loaded the Loopback App onto the machine just in case the audio was not routing. In Loopback I added the Blackmagic Design hardware device, as well as the ATEM Software Control and neither indicates any audio flowing from the ATEM at all.

Connecting a pair of headphones to the headphone jack on the back of the ATEM Mini Extreme DOES produce audio, very robust and good sounding audio. But absolutely zero audio out of the USB-C to the computer.

Video works flawless, but zero audio via USB-C no matter what I have tried.

Does the ATEM Mini Extreme just not support audio via the USB-C to a computer? Or what have I missed that is blocking audio via USB-C?

Thanks,
.

I'm having the same issue. I tried everything. The sound also used to work, then stopped. I used it with a couple video chats and even streamed with audio through OBS before it stopped working. I'm using Windows 11. Did you figure it out??
