Lower Thirds transparency issues

We are still getting our Blackmagic Video equipment dialed in, but have issues with using a graphic as a lower third (such as a tree with sky). Everything in the image is transparent, or you can see right through it, but when using a single color lower third everything is fine. how do we fix/resolve this issue?
Do we need to create it differently in photoshop, or is it a setting in black magic that is easily done? thanks for any help or suggestions you can give.

If you want to make in photoshop and bring into the media player of the Atem, follow these directions for a perfect key:

Otherwise if you use propresenter and have version 7 you can buy one of the approved products to give you two outputs from propresenter which will be a proper key and fill. Then you would configure your downstream key for “key and fill”. Both ways will result in a perfect key

Thank you for this video/tutorial. Does this work for Propresentor as well? We use Propresentor for our slides, I would assume that this video would also help with that.
