Zoom f4 multitrack settings for ATEM mini

PostWed Oct 05, 2022 3:45 pm

Help! I have a setup with 4 XLR lav mics (Sony ECM-44B) mixed through an F4 (firmware V. 3.0) and then input to my ATEM mini via XLR - 35mm adapter. Phantom power to all 4 mics at 24V. We tested the setup three weeks ago and it worked like a charm. Yesterday we did a dry tech run and none of the lavs were working. There's only low-level static coming through the ATEM and no levels from the mics, but the mics sound great when monitored through the F4. Plugging the XLR lav directly into the ATEM via the adapter works fine, but we need 4 mics to be pre-mixed through the F4. Here's what I've done to troubleshoot:

Replace the batteries in all the lav mics
Switched to a new XLR - 35 mm adapter
Tried the input in mic 1 and 2 in the ATEM.
Updated firmware on all counts.

Our event is in 2 weeks, I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out why something that was working great is suddenly failing. Any ideas?

ECM44 NOT need phantom power .. It use AA batery to powering ..

Checkout Audio settings in ATEM .. do u have activity on inputs ?

Yes the mics shouldn't need phantom power, but in my testing a few weeks ago, ATEM wasn't recognizing the inputs without it for some reason.
I am seeing low-level static registering on the ATEM mic 1 input but no levels from the mic.

UPDATE: I was able to fix the connection between the F4 and the ATEM by connecting them via the headphone jack instead of the Main Out 1 XLR port with an adapter.

Thanks to Audio for Content Creators on YouTube for the video that led me to the solution!
