ATEM 1 M/E Switcher: Problem: Black Screen when powered up

I just returned from vacation and found that my ATEM 1 M/E Switcher is sending out a black screen. When I unplug power I get no signal from the HDMI out. When I plug in power again, I just get a black screen.

The system was working just fine a few days ago.

ISSUES:
- Black Screen output through HDMI
- ATEM Software Control is not connecting to the hardware

What should I check to trouble shoot? (I already switched out the HDMI cable. - no change)

What would your next step be?

Clarification: I am getting black from the Multi-view HDMI source.

Steps taken so far:
- Updated software from 3.0.1 to 4.2.1

Another Problem:
- Using the ATEM Setup Utility: The utility dialogue box will ask for "Software Update Required!" and I will [Update Now]. After running through the update I will power down and unplug the USB connection. Once the utility connects again it will ask for the "Software Update" again.

I dug a bit further and it looks like the ATEM 1 M/E Switcher is not communicating through its network cable. [Lights on network switch don't blink when the cable is plugged in.]

- I switched out the CAT 5 cable and the lights on my network switch did not blink.

My computer connects through the USB. (It notices when the USB is plugged in or not.) But I do not get any info showing up i the IP address: window. (Subnet mask or Gateway)

Hi,

It seems to be your switcher might be faulty and might require a RMA process. I'll recommend you approach your nearest BMD support team to your locality for further technical assistance.
