Firstly thanks for letting me post on board here from austraia.
Couple of questions:
Im using the ATEM 1 m/e production switcher and ATEM broadcast panel in a tafe colleg here in sydney.
Got it all talking to each other after some minor glitches but now after trying to connect my MAC book pro ,have now found the resolution of the unit only goes to 720 when I'm running cameras at 1080i, and the camera's do not allow 720 resolution.
So I'm after a cost effective solution, I do not really want to bring my video production qualities down (allot of fashion parades) so can I rescan my apple output to 1080i? Type of product?
I really want to use Pro presenter 5 on my apple as a production tool as well.
thanks for the feedback

What model and how old is the macbook pro? I had an old pro form 2008 and it connects full HD. I would be surprised if any mac laptop that is still functioning cannot connect. Can you use the about this mac to get the details of the video card?
Can you connect the macbook to an HDTV to see if you can get such a high resolution?
From 10.8 onward apple removed a lot of the options for setting the output resolution I use switchresX to get all the options back.
It might just be a case of settings to get you going.

ok,
got it recognising a LCD tv and it allows changing of resolution. But still will not output to the Atem 1, so I will try another cable to start with and then look at my settings.

If it is a 2012 macbook pro then it can definitely do what you want.

so the never ending story.
Mac book works plugged into a screen 1080i instanlty, but when hooked up to the Atem 1 no output to atem1 at all ,no signs of an output.
I can plug a camera in on the same input HDMI and its works.
Now with the output from the mac my cable is a mini output to hdmi (non apple product) ,should I only use a Apple produced lead?
also downloaded switch res x no ddifference .

Just tryu switch resx it actually gives you back the control of your output resolution that apple removed. Simple. I have this configuration with 15 different macbooks at all resolutions with an atem 1/me it works fine with pretty much any cable. you have to set the resolution and refresh to the exact same as the ATEM. You are in PAL land so you need 1080i50 (just 1080i is not enough information).

I can get the laptop to work with the atem at 720 50p but even with switch res the laptop will not allow 1080 50i,camera work perfectly.
the list of available resolutions only really allows NSTC with hardly any Pal ones listed, 720 50p is th ehighest pal resolution listed.
Switch resi does nt seem to do as it should for me ,I wonder if mavericks operating system has something to do with this?
I will kepp on trying
