ATEM Mini Extreme - Program Out/Clean Feed Poor Quality

PostMon Mar 27, 2023 11:43 pm

Hi all,

We purchased a Mini Extreme to use in our video studio as a sub-switcher to feed a 60” doghouse monitor for the presenters.

The Program monitor view in the multi-view looks good (HDMI Out 1), but HDMI 2 which I’ve set as a clean feed or a program feed looks horrible. It looks compressed and blocky, text is illegible.

I’ve tried multiple monitors and the feed looks the same on all of them. Taking the switcher out of line and sending the input signal directly to the screen looks perfect.

Tried switching the functions of HDMI outs 1 and 2, same issue.

Tried multiple inputs on the switcher and input sources, same result.

I have confirmed the output of the switcher is 1080p. Honestly, it looks like a crap 720p that’s being poorly upscaled. No idea what’s going on. It’s also laggy, and seeing a computer feed with cursor movement looks like it’s rubber-banding.

Perhaps it’s an issue with the inputs trying to resync the signal? Those same signals have no issues with any of the other Blackmagic gear we use.

I’m at a loss. Thoughts?
