Firmware Update

Today during our church service, our ATEM mini pro suddenly went off air and did not regain connection until it was taken off power and restarted. I checked the software and found that it still runs on Firmware 8.6.3 whereas ATEM Software control is already 9.0.0. I started ATEM setup but did not receive an update message for the firmware. Is this correct or can I force the update somehow?

No update message means that your Atem is running the latest firmware possible!!

Since BMD uses universal FW updates that have just updates for a few models at a time which got new features or issues solved. If you had read the readme at the firmware you would have seen the Minis were not covered by the current update.

Per BM's rep just the other day, 8.6.3 is the latest for the ATEM Mini Pro ISO. My ATEM S/W Control is 8.8, and I've had no problems with the S/W seeing the device, even over wifi (the Mini is connected by ethernet cable to the router).

From reading some reviews etc. on YT, wondering if your problem could be from overheating? Try elevating the Mini up a few inches. One user reported that this completely solved his shutdown issues.

Thanks for your help. The problem only occurred once and I suppose that it was not due to overheating, because our church is pretty chilly and it happened soon after the service started. I thought that it might be the gap in software revisions between controller software an Atem firmware, its, as I learned from the other post, that was not the case.

it has not happened again since. Therefore, I thank you all for helping me and think that it was a unique incident.
