Atem Studio Pro HD and newer imac and Panasonic HMC150p

PostFri Apr 21, 2023 1:10 pm

Hi. I am a tv production teacher and my room has the Atem Studio HD. I am having the hardest time getting a newer imac (2020) as an input to show up with the Panasonic HMC150. By switching the setting in the atem software video settings, I can get the cameras to show up or just the imac, but not both at the same time.

Can anyone tell me how to get them all to show up? The imac only shows up in the 1080p 59.94 setting in atem and the cameras only show up in the 1080i 59.94.

I appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi, so the iMac is not going to output an interlaced signal, and that camcorder's maximum progressive output resolution is 1080/30p. The ATEM Studio HD does not have standards conversion, so you can either:

a: set the switcher to 1080/30p, the output of the camera to 30p, and try to set the imac to output 30p (maybe using switchresx)

b: place a decimator hx (or since this is a blackmagic forum) a UpDownCross HD Mini Converter on the source you want to normalize.

If it were me, I would decide upon the broadcast standard I want/need for my production and then convert the source that doesn't output to that standard.
