Zoom/Focus from ATEM Switcher of Ursa Broadcast w/ENG Lens

PostFri Apr 21, 2023 5:13 pm

I was just at NAB 2023 and saw a number of Ursa Broadcast cameras with Fujinon lens using BMD zoom & focus demands. I forgot look to see if these lens could be controlled (zoomed/focused) from the ATEM camera controls. Is there anyone that has used this setup, and can you tell me if this is possible. I am exploring a PTZ setup with this camera and lens setup.

Most B4 digital lenses with servos should work.

For example, the LA16x8BRM-XB1A works with both zoom and focus.

Please be advised that the Fujinon FSM-30B Focus Servo Module is currently NOT supported. I'm really hoping that this will be addressed with a firmware update some time soon.

The ATEM contols are fine for remotely presetting focus, zoom, and iris, but they are not precise or responsive enough for operating the camera in an active live environment. Physical focus & zoom demands in your hands are much better.
